All Overwatch 2 Maps and Game Modes

Overwatch 2, the sequel to the popular fast-paced first-person shooter Overwatch developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, carries many of the old features with slight adjustments along with a fresh 5v5 gameplay.

All heroes and most maps have been forwarded to Overwatch 2 with a few new ones being added over time. This has maintained the familiarity aspect of the game but still feels fresh.

So for all the new players and former enthusiasts who might be out of touch, here are all the maps and game modes that can be experienced in Overwatch 2.

The collection below will contain all the maps and game modes that are in Overwatch 2 but that does not mean that all of them will always be available.

This is because certain maps and game modes keep going in and out of rotation from time-to-time, keeping the game exciting for the players and allowing developers to fine-tune things.

Starting with the game modes that players can enjoy in Overwatch 2, there are many if we take into consideration both official and unofficial ones. Here is the difference between the two and what they have to offer.

The official Overwatch 2 game modes are the ones created by the developers and available across both Competitive and Unranked categories.

Push

Two teams of five players each fight to take control of a robot and push it toward the enemy base.

A team wins by covering more distance than the enemy within a set period of time or by pushing the robot all the way till the end.

Control

Two teams of five players each fight to hold a single objective.

This match is always held in a best-of-three format, hence the first team to win two rounds wins the match.

Escort

Two teams of five players each fight on the same map with different objectives.

One team has to escort a payload to the end of the map, while the other team has to stop them.

Hybrid

Two teams of five players each fight on the same map with different objectives.

One team has to first capture the payload and then escort it to the end, while the other team has to stop them.

Flashpoint

Two teams of five players each fight on the same map to capture multiple objectives.

Capture The Flag

Two teams compete to capture the enemy team's flag while defending their own. Available in 3v3 or 5v5 pairs.

Elimination

Takedown all enemies to win the round. Win three rounds to claim victory. Available with teams of one, three, or six.

Deathmatch

Free-for-all format where the first player to reach 20 points by elimination wins.

Team Deathmatch

Two teams of five players each take on each other with the objective of securing more eliminations.

There are a variety of maps that Overwatch 2 has to offer and the best part is that they are all entwined with the lore. They are based on locations where the story takes place and hence players feel a familiarity when playing on them.

Do keep in mind that the same maps are not available across all game modes, each enjoying their own set of maps.

Also, the minor game modes, those that are not under Unranked and Competitive categories take place on a smaller segment of certain maps, so those are not included as repetition can occur leading to unnecessary confusion.
